First we work with the farmers in order to enable them to reach the necessary level of organization and quality
The vast majority of farmers own small-scale plantations that are not sufficient to feed an export market. To guarantee a stable volume of supply it is important that farmers work together within an association.
Second; the increase in quality and the application of hygiene standards will be a major focus for action. The farmers have a high level of expertise but the farms have been neglected due to low prices on local markets.
We also work with non profit organizations and funding agencies in order to give the farmers the tools to reach financial stability
There are many obstacles for these producers. Infrastructures have been destroyed, tools and machineries have disappeared and their financial situation does not allow them to invest.
It is therefore necessary to support them – with donations or low interest loans – in the first years of production. This investment will solve the technical problems that impact the quality and the productivity of their farms.
Finally we work with the different actors in the market – importers, exporters and retailers – in order to secure the sale of the products at a fair price
Obviously, looking for markets is the first step in the development of this industry. Our action is focused on marketing and promoting these products with the companies in the market, working with them in order to guarantee the compliance of the product with their expectations. We also study together the promotion efforts that need to be put in place to secure the continuity of demand.
